Best Home Goods is an independent, women-owned family business, supplying households, jobsites and trade customers since 2018. Our whole reason for existing is the thing you need now — floor protection before Saturday’s party, the small tool that finishes the job, the cleaning supplies you just ran out of. Held on our own Wisconsin shelves and moving the same day wherever we can reach you.

Our story

It started small. It stayed family.

We opened in 2018 as a small start-up — one family, a modest amount of stock, and a phone that rang at the kitchen table as often as it did at a desk. Nobody handed us a distribution network. We built the range one product line at a time, funded by orders that actually shipped.

What we learned early is that the product itself is rarely the hard part. Timing is. Floor protection matters the day before the party, not the week after. The small tool that finishes a job is worth nothing on Thursday if the job was Tuesday. So we built the business around having it on the shelf and getting it moving: sourced direct, held in warehouses we run ourselves, and never sitting in someone else’s drop-ship queue.

The same family owns it today, and the same family runs it — women-owned, independent, with a second generation now working alongside the people who started it. The range keeps growing and the footprint keeps expanding. The goal hasn’t moved: get people what they need now, at a fair price, with someone who picks up the phone.

Owned outright by the family

No outside investors setting quarterly targets. No parent group deciding what we’re allowed to stock. The founders still own the company, and every call on price, range and service gets made in-house.

The second generation is in the building — picking orders, answering the phone, choosing what goes on the shelf. The handover is happening the way it does in a family business: gradually, and on the floor.

• 2018 — The start-up years

  One family, one room, a short list of products

  A tight range and a simple rule: only stock what we’d use ourselves. Orders were picked and packed by the same people who answered the phone.

• Growing

  From one room to three Wisconsin locations

  Stock moved onto our own shelves in three Wisconsin shipping locations, staffed by people who live nearby. Holding inventory ourselves is more work than drop-shipping — it’s also the only way to promise a delivery date and mean it.

• Expanding

  Four departments, and more landing

  Household essentials, pet supplies, tools & DIY and flooring gear now sit side by side, with new lines added as inventory arrives. Trade accounts, volume pricing and same-day DoorDash delivery grew with them.

• Now

  Second generation, same standard

  Millions of orders shipped across the United States — to households restocking the cleaning cupboard, to pet owners kitting out a new puppy, and to contractors ordering the same item for the tenth time this year. Still family owned. Still answering the phone.
