How to use Slope-X
- Start clean and dry. Knock off loose snow and ice, wipe away grit and let the surface dry. A warm room makes this easier and helps the film bond.
- Spray the top. Hold the bottle a few inches off the surface and mist the topsheet, plus the bindings, boot welts and any other spot that packs with snow.
- Wipe it out. Work it into a thin, even film with a clean cloth. No puddles, no streaks — thin is what you want.
- Let it flash off. Give it a minute to dry to an invisible, slick coat.
- Top it up. Reapply between days, or mid-day when the snow turns wet and heavy.

Frequently asked questions
Does Slope-X go on the base or the top?
The top. Slope-X is a topcoat, and the label directions are to spray the top of your skis or board and wipe it out. It layers over an ironed base wax rather than replacing it.
Does it replace hot wax?
No. Hot wax handles glide on the base. Slope-X handles snow sticking to the surfaces above it — topsheet, bindings, boots. Most people do both.
How long does a bottle last?
That depends on how much surface you cover and how often you top up. A thin, even film is all it takes, so most riders get many applications out of a 2 oz bottle and refresh between days rather than soaking the gear.
What temperature should I apply it at?
Apply it indoors or in a warm room when you can. A dry surface at room temperature lets the film lay down evenly. Once it is on, it is built for winter conditions.
Is it safe on topsheet graphics?
It is made for ski and snowboard topsheets. As with any coating, if you are working on something unusual — a painted sled, a wrapped hood — test a small hidden spot first.
Can I use it on anything besides skis and boards?
