Description
GreenSeel Liquid Waterproofing Membrane is a single-component, ready-to-use liquid rubber membrane that rolls, brushes, or trowels on to create a seamless, crack-resistant, waterproof barrier under tile and stone — no mixing, no sheet seams, no sealing tape across the field of the installation. This 2 gallon pail covers approximately 100 sq ft.
Why installers use it
- Seamless, liquid-applied barrier. No cutting or fitting sheet membrane around drains, corners, or pipe penetrations — it flows into every gap and cures as one continuous waterproof layer.
- ANSI A118.10 / A118.12 approved. Meets the industry standard for waterproofing membranes and for crack-isolation membranes used under ceramic tile and stone.
- Crack prevention up to 3/8″. Bridges hairline and moderate substrate cracks so they don’t telegraph up through the finished tile or grout.
- Prevents mold and mildew growth in wet areas like showers, steam rooms, and pool decks.
- Apply with a brush, roller, or trowel — whatever tool fits the job and the surface.
- Doubles as a shower pan liner when built up to spec over a properly sloped mortar bed.
Where to use it
Shower and tub surrounds, shower pans, steam rooms, swimming pool decks and interiors, water features, laundry and mudroom floors, kitchen and bath floors before tile, and floors with electric or hydronic radiant heating systems. Rated for both interior and exterior tile and stone installations.
What it bonds to
Concrete (porous and non-porous), lightweight concrete, gypcrete/gypsum underlayments, OSB, plywood, existing vinyl, epoxy coatings, existing glazed or unglazed tile, natural stone, terrazzo, PVC, steel/aluminum/stainless steel, adhesive residue, cement backer board, and polystyrene foam products.
How to apply GreenSeel Waterproofing Membrane
- Prep the substrate. Surface should be clean, sound, and free of dust, grease, and loose debris.
- Reinforce the details. At inside corners, outside corners, seams, and pipe penetrations, embed a reinforcing fabric strip into a wet coat of membrane before proceeding.
- Apply the first coat. Brush, roll, or trowel an even coat over the full field of the substrate, working the membrane into any texture or minor imperfections.
- Let it dry, then recoat. Allow the first coat to dry to the touch, then apply a second coat at a 90° angle to the first for full, even coverage.
- Cure before tiling. Let the membrane cure fully per the current technical data sheet before setting tile or stone.
Full cure times, coverage rates, and installation details are on the manufacturer’s technical data sheet — ask us if you’d like a copy before you start a job.
